STRIPE

Stripe's namesake is his white mohawk. He is very crafty, and smarter than the other Gremlins in Gremlins 1. GREEN MEAN RATING: ****

MOHAWK

Mohawk has a stripe as a Mogwai, but as a Gremlin, he has a large "fish fin" all the way down his back. His coloration is different. He drinks the spider chemical, and becomes a spider/Gremlin. ***

THE BRAIN

The Brain is just another Gremlin, until he drinks some brain hormone. He then dons a pair of glasses, and...proceeds to sing "New York, New York." He is the smartest Gremlin, but he isn't nearly as aggressive as Stripe or Mohawk. He helps the Bat/Gremlin by giving him a shot of "molecular sunblock". This makes him immune to bright light. If he's so smart, why didn't he whip up another batch for himself? Or the other Gremlins? Hmm... * There's one more leader, in my own little Gremlins book. You'll just have to wait for me to finish it. Then I'll put it on here.

SPIKE

Spike is the worst Gremlin yet. He is smarter than The Brain...yet much more aggressive. He is stronger than Stripe, and deadlier than Mohawk. He isn't always smart, though. No, no, no. He becomes smart quite by accident. It seems that when a Mogwai eats a mushroom, it increases his intelligence. Spike the Mogwai stumbles upon a can of mushroom soup, left open by Billy. He drinks it, and becomes smart. With his newfound knowledge, he learns of how to multiply, and grow more powerful. First, he eats every mushroom he can find, only knowing that somehow they make him smarter. He grows smarter and smarter. Then he breaks out of Billy's self-made Mogwai cage, and eats a whole horde of food...but not mushrooms...after midnight. He forms his pod, in a nice spot in the woods...and begins changing. As a Gremlin, he has a group of sharp spikes on his head. He jumps in the ocean to multiply, and realizes his mistake. Salt Water makes Gremlins die! As he melts, he screams and screams, but no one...not Billy................not Gizmo...hears him. In his dying breath, he washes ashore. The waves wash over him, and bury him beneath the sand. One week later, a group of children are playing on the beach. The tide is low, and they have a sports drink in thier hand. They spill thier drink on the sand..in the same spot where Spike's remains lay. The liquid seeps into the sand...where it drips over Spike.
